About

Skylar is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans filmmaking, photography, and other visual arts, often centered around feminist themes and the representation of women in media.

She examines the intersection of gender, sexuality, and identity through the cinematic lens, challenging traditional narratives and exploring how women’s experiences are both shaped by and reshaped through film.

She actively critiques and reimagines the portrayal of women, addressing everything from gender roles to the male gaze, while also celebrating the complexities of female agency. Her projects explore girlhood and complicated female relationships, as well as subversive exploitation.

She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at the University of Central Florida, where she received her Bachelor’s in Narrative Film Production as an undergraduate student. As a Graduate Teaching Associate, she is currently the Co-Instructor of Record for the elective, “Images of Women in Film.”

Her latest project, a sci-fi horror feature film titled Love Unseen, is currently in preproduction and is scheduled to begin shooting on June 9th of 2026. This film explores themes of the spectacle of female suffering and the commodification of the female body. In such an unprecedented time in U.S. history, there is no better time than now to examine the systematic heinous treatment of women, more specifically their bodies.
